Amelia and Janessa share with the community that 1 in 5 families are affected by mental illness. Together and individually, they speak about how to best help the individual and family to find hope, healing, and wellness.
Amelia Mora Mars, MOM (yep that’s for Mom), LMFT, Mom Coach
Amelia has experienced the joys of motherhood as well as the daily challenges that all women experience. As a mother of six daughters and four sons with varying personality, temperaments, strengths, weaknesses, a set of twins, child on the autism spectrum, and child with bi-polar disorder she understands first-hand the complexities of motherhood. She especially has a sensitivity toward mothers who struggle with her own mothering as a result of not receiving the nurturance, guidance, and sense of love and belonging that she needed as a little girl. Amelia’s passion is aimed at helping Moms confidently communicate and connect with her kids.
Janessa Mars, Certified Peer Support Coach
Janessa has suffered with anxiety, auditory processing, attention deficit disorder, and insomnia since childhood. Symptoms of anxiety escalated to include panic, depression, and obsessive compulsive disorder. At the age of 16, Janessa was diagnosed with Bipolar II. “This war of my mind was a strong invasion that felt like a violent and painful attack.” Janessa welcomed help from a team of professionals providing her the structure to wellness. Today, she serves as a Mental Health Champion at Celebrate Recovery at The Church at Rocky Peak. In this role, she educates leadership and mentors about individuals suffering from mental health issues and substance abuse. As a Peer Support Coach, she provides one-one support to individuals struggling with their own mental health story. Through role-modeling, mentoring, identifying triggers, and personalizing a wellness toolbox, she accompanies each client to find their own story to wellness.
