Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can I see results?

Most patients feel a noticeable difference immediately following treatment. Commonly, the effect is gradual and subtle, noticing thoughts of sadness and hopelessness begin to lift and subside. Some patients will not notice an effect until after their fourth or fifth infusion. Typical antidepressants take weeks or months to work and have common side effects such as weight gain, sexual dysfunction, sleep disturbance, fatigue, and emotional blunting. Many who have not found relief from traditional oral medications often benefit from ketamine

How often are KAP sessions?

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is often used in therapeutic settings to promote neuroplasticity, which can aid in treating conditions like depression by enhancing the brain's ability to form new connections. Six sessions are considered the golden standard to achieve long-lasting effects.

However, some individuals facing an existential crisis may seek fewer KAP sessions, aiming for immediate relief or insight rather than prolonged treatment. In such cases, even limited exposure to ketamine might provide enough of a shift in perspective or emotional state to help them navigate their crisis, though it may not fully capitalize on the neuroplastic benefits associated with more extensive treatment protocols..

Please keep in mind that there is an integration session 1 to 2 days following each ketamine treatment to optimize neuroplasticity and to help you make meaning of your healing journey.

How long do treatment sessions last?

KAP treatments typically last two and a half hours, whether they are administered as IV infusions or sublingual treatments. Your designated driver will be kept updated on your progress and when you feel ready to leave.

Who is the Prescriber?

We collaborate with Dr. Paramdeep Bhasin at PointKetamine for intravenous infusions in Agoura Hills, California and Dr. Dana Lerman at Skylight Psychedelics for sublingual ketamine treatment at my Westlake Village office..

Do you work with men or teens?

Absolutely, while my specialization is in supporting women, I am deeply committed to also working with men and teens who face challenges with mental illness and trauma, as everyone deserves compassionate care and understanding.

What is the investment of KAP?

Expenses tend to be higher with Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Treatment costs are related to your personalized treatment plan, the medication, the thoroughness of our work, and the three-hour duration of the therapy sessions.

'Superbills' are sent directly to you upon your request to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Do you accept insurance?

Rather than spending hours on the phone with insurance companies, we focus on providing our clients with the highest service and care.

We can provide you with a receipt (called a Superbill) that you may submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement based on your specified benefits. Clients with PPO insurance plans tend to be reimbursed 30-80% of our rate, which you can verify with your insurance provider.

Payment is accepted in cash, check, HSA or FSA card, or credit card, and is due following each treatment.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
